This is the first documented test of my Rover project. it is just the obstacle detection software running on an Arduino mega. instead of having the arduino decode the recievers outputs and the encode back to servo, i used SPDT relays to disconnect the signal wires to the servos and connect the arduino digital outputs to the same wire. this kills all user input and impliment a set of manuvers to get out of the situation.

  • why use relays if you can just hook up ESC's to your arduino and "fake" user input?

  • if you would only know how ignorant you sound @javedkhan0258... lol as for the body/chasis @claystudiofx the one i use is called the RedCat Racing Rockslide supercrawler 1/8 scale. It is a MOA (Motor On Axel) type. and @yxhankun I can supply my code and schematics in an email cause of the character limit on here. just PM me

  • sounds like ur controlling using controller. Piece of shit. You need more time to program. It is not detecting anything. Ur controlling it

  • Hi i want to know about the Body/chasis. can u tell me what rc brand you were using for the chasis ? is it 1:10 or 1:8 scale ? is it Motor On Axis type ? i want to build one like this but a simple one , still confusing picking the right chasis model, between crawler or other model. Any suggestion.

  • interesting...I wan to learn more. any schematics, code? open sources...

  • Well i lost the ability to log in on this account and had to make another:( lol if anyone has any questions, just direct them to this user

  • Great! I just started (today) using a RedCat Landslide as a base and have the same chassis drooping problem. My pan/tilt IP camera does not have a droop adjust. ;) I converted over to a Spektrum Dx6i still using 4 wheel steering by using the rudder control with a servo reverser (so 1 channel instead of 2 for steering). Good Luck on your project!!

  • What a nice chassi.

I was doing something scimilar these days. The car was dodging obstacles. Everything works fine, but when I connect the servo at same time with the sensor it gets crazy. Do you know why?

  • Good job. Nice Traxxas though :P

  • Hey, great stuff! I am currently working on a similar project. Your implementation gave me some hint for my own project...
