Well, if one needs to delve into "concepts" to be able to tell two bands apart, it's probably not worth the time to "delve into concepts". That said FOTN is an excellent band and it is not a sign of disgrace to sound exactly like SoM. Or a s Borges would have it: "every artist creates his ancestors."
Peace.

The Sisters of Mercy influence was strongest on their early albums.
Not to mention that FotN is way more full live band(no drum machines et cetera) oriented than SoM.

Blimey, next you'll be saying that the Follies and The Aceademy were the hot spots for alternative music.

Long live Da Deadlies, Catalyst and The Gods (Rock)

A shame and a pity that so many moronic people can't begin to understand the concept behind FOTN and idiotically still compare them to SoM.
That being said long live FOTN! Unique guitar playing, tremendous lyrics and ambiences. There's no other like them.
Don't like, go preach your shit somewhere else.
