My new wet sanding series featuring Adam's Polishes. In this series of videos, I remove 2 major scratches from the hood of my El Camino. I use a new type of pad from Adam's which is smaller and is perfect for working on a small area of the car, like where a scratch would be. Enjoy!

  • Thanks for demonstrating

  • @extremeworkout305 Thanks for watching. :)

  • I'm a Detailer and I find these videos very helpful. But I don't use Adams products. Would the swirl and haze remover be a heavier grit? Or more of a glaze?

  • @PerfectLeetuned Here's the deal. I need you to contact me via PM over at Adam's Forums (Junkman2008), or via You Tube email because the questions that you are asking require a specific answer and I don't want you to feel belittled or taken aback at the answer. Only you and I need to see the response and I need more space than they give you here.

  • So basically the swirl remover is just polishing compound?

  • @theciskokidd All polishes are some type of swirl removing agent.

  • And another question would you use a wool pad or a foam pad for a similar application. I use a high speed dewalt buffer. It is quite bigger than the one you used will it still get the job done?

  • @bluesmanreturns I understand where you are coming from. The stuff is expensive depending on your income but for what it can do for maintaining your paint in the long run makes it well worth the price. Especially in resale value. In my 20's, I couldn't afford it. Now it's chump change. My secret? College degree.

  • Hey junkman your the best , but i just checked out the Adams products and Adam's Starter Porter Cable 7424XP Polisher Kit - its kind of expensive Price: at $329.95 Maybe they cut you a deal for using their product but your average Dude cant buy this stuff. Well I will just sit back and enjoy watching you your good.

  • @crx1299 Thanks for watching. :)

  • Hey man! Thx for ur time and effort. Ur videos benefit a lot of ppl.

  • @ShitMyCatsOnFire You're welcome. Thanks for watching.

  • Thanks a ton for posting this. I have some serious scratching I want to tackle on my truck, and this taught me exactly what I needed to know

  • @UtzChips2009 Actually the reason they did it was because the hook portion wears out the fastest and is cheaper to make. The benefit is twofold for the customer: 1. Longer Lasting contact for the pads 2. Lower cost to the consumer.

  • The reason 3M changed the setup, was so that those who use their product, will have to purchase more products.

  • @hiyukenmusic If you were wet sanding an entire car, I would assume that you would be painting it also. That whole process is totally different from this. What you see in these videos is strictly for removing minor scratches.

  • How would this process be different if you are wet sanding an entire car? Larger block, multiday, larger polishing pads

  • @MrZiggy1979 Louisville, Kentucky.

  • we aww are and still am stupid..lol but i see your work man.. what part of town you from..?

  • @pointhood69 Thanks for watching! I'm still learning. My father was the expert but I was too stupid to learn from him. I kick myself to this day.

  • Dude you are the man!!!! I don't know if you went to school for this or if you just learned all this on your own, however this is by far the best video and proper way to do wet sanding!!!!!! You explain every thing step by step, how ever you should change the title of the video to WET SANDING FOR DUMMIES,,, LOL... Great job on the video also!!!!

  • @EdwinRamos89 You're welcome sir!

  • Thank You

  • @physiques Thanks for watching! As far as sanding an entire car, I don't like doing this that much! I'd pay someone to do that too. That's way more work than I would do! lol!

  • Junkman I learned a lot from your videos. First, that's way to much work... I'd rather pay someone to do it, but you enjoy it so it's all good. If you lived near by and want to make some extra cash, I'd have you wet sand my vehicle. Also, your presentation is excellent, calm and clear. I could see you on This Old House or something. Keep up the great work, I'm going to check out some of your other videos. Peace.
