so, uh, i'm probably really freaking insane, but the very first part of the intro to this song, i had to check and make sure i was listening to the newest mdb and not a track off cruelty and the beast by cradle of filth.

Are you referring to the song "Thirteen Autumns and a Widow"? I never listen to Cradle of Filth, but I checked them out after reading your comment and I thought that that track sounded a bit similar in a way.
