July 1, 2011: March past of units from the Royal Newfoundland Regiment, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) following the memorial ceremony at the National War Memorial on Water Street. Lt. Governor John Crosbie takes the salute. The band performs the official march of the Regiment "The Banks of the Newfoundland" for most of the march past.
July 1 is Memorial day in Newfoundland and Labrador in order to remember the bloody losses sustained by the Newfoundland Regiment during the Battle of the Somme (1916, near the French village of Beaumont Hamel) and WWI in general.
It stirs my heart to see the march past.
I, too, made a small video that same day. I recorded the same parade on Duckworth Street as they marched from the Sergeant's Memorial on Queen's Road to the National War Memorial for the wreath laying. If you search YouTube for "Beaumont Hamel Parade 2011" you will find it.

@NLTechieTchr Thank you. Yes, actually I did see your video earlier. I wish my grade 8 students were able to grasp the gravity of the situation in 1916, but it's rather hard to convey that sometimes...
