the recession is a word for a globe confused as to how the economy of their parts of the world work, and instead leans on other parts of the world to carry them through, this strain has caused a recession....a government should be self funded and self operational, there are too many people who depend on other parts of the world for everything, these are the 3rd world countris, you can map the global economy, and study the loopholes called the economy and find the clog, try taxing alcohol

@chollonerd the industrial hemp idea does sound like a good one. im from the detroit metro area and since a lot of the land around here consists of vacant homes and buildings, the soil underneath it is ripe for growing. its my belief that detroit could be a leader in hemp production which could be used as an alternative energy, considering fords first model t ran on hemp oil. just a thought of course...

Capitalism as a mode of production is inherently contradictory. Without the seesaw of economic development and disposession, it cannot survive. Even if we did all of the things you've suggested we would eventually meet this point once again. Undoubtably, we will see it over and over and over again.

how we can fix the economy:
Get rif of unessesary (unproductive) govt jobs
bring back all offshore jobs, telemarketing, ect
legalize pot (atleast) to save taxes on courts, incarciration, and persecution. and give a billion dollar market, industrial Hemp and shops.
