** Video of the exact moment the Detroit Tigers won the 2006 ALCS, and the ensuing celebration on the streets of Detroit. You've seen all the videos from inside Comerica Park--well here's the perspective from OUTSIDE the stadium, coming from the live broadcast at the State Theatre and watching the streets of Detroit become a frenzied celebration. **

Part 2 begins as we approach Comerica Park. There is a crowd gathered around the outfield gate outside (most of the 40,000+ fans are still inside). I was able to climb onto the fence and get some footage of the award ceremony on the field. Also, we lost Nick.

  • I wish I was there! Damn thats some amazing footage

  • 6:20 - Only in our fine city can the words of a change banger echo as a chant after the Tigers clinch a World Series birth. I love Detroit!!

  • It was an awesome night!!!! I have since moved to Charlotte, but it is one of the best nights of my life. INCREDIBLE! I was there the last game of 04 when they staved off 120 losses. Then 2 years later to be present for this was a dream come true. GOD BLESS DETROIT!! AND THE TIGERS. BLESS YOU BOYS!

  • Hey jeff!!! Try having the Ecomony that we have here and still see if you can get half of the fans their to come out.. Greatist sports town PERIOD SON.

  • I live 500 ft. from Wrigley Field. And I hate the Cubs. Why? Because being from Detroit, I know what it means to have a sports franchise that is IMPORTANT to the city. Not just the imhabitants, but it's economy as well. The Cubs may still blow the WS again, but the area is still booming. Detroit NEEDS moments like these. It's the only way to bring money back into the city.

I miss Detroit. Everyone here is a damn artist, and 80 grand in debt 'cause of Student Loans.

    DUH!!!! (rich kids)

  • jeff6851 is gay. So are the cardinals

  • The good old streets of Woodward were alive that night!!

  • i freaking love the tigers

  • I was watching this on TV. Sucks I didn't make it. I was about to walk 40 miles to get there. That would be awesome.
