This is a full demonstration of the introduction sequence and three levels available in the Doom 3 alpha that was leaked in 2002 shortly after its display at that year's E3 event.

I am well aware that are many videos of the alpha already on YouTube, but I have yet to see a "proper" playthrough of the levels that includes and triggers all of the scripted sequences and events as they were intended to be. Hence, everything you see me do in this video is more-or-less a direct recreation of the game's presentation at E3 2002, although I chose not to use god mode.

  • the ending was epic lol. to be honest the grapichs looks worser than the actuall DOOM3. but it looks like the monsters are more alive and responding. i dont recall the hellknight could ever pick you up after killing you like this

  • when i first played the beta it started me when the zombies lunged at me, but it nearly scared me to death when they got back up.

  • @satanfang and also 1.they rushed it a bit towards the end. 2.everything may be unique in real life but it isn't possible to make an entire game that is unique in every detail without losing your sanity at the same time. people get bored of drawing 2000 different forms of dirt patterns, and once that's done, they have to strip off a load of the detail so that it can run on low power pcs or consoles.

  • @satanfang well what did you expect?, doom 3 was finished and on sale in 2004, rage in 2011, if it took that long to make it expect it to lose a bit of its potential. take a look at duke nukem! Consider yourself lucky that it didn't take 14 YEARS to make rage!

  • Surprisingly, MW3 was built off this same engine and Doom 3 STILL beats it, if you think not then you haven't seen the perfected mod!

  • @soberek yep i had a hercules geforce3, top of the range at the time and max payne when it came out, happy days !!!

  • I simply loved Doom 3, scary, interesting plot, I know they took the idea for audio logs from System shock but who didn't love running around gathering, reading emails and listening to them? I have great memories from the time I played it. Maybe the weapon noises lacked a little but still a great game! :D

  • @Obli20v this is because Doom 3 with its id Tech 3 is usually considered the first of the modern games with its per-pixel lighting and shaders. After that..newer games just introduced more higher definition textures, more poligons, techniques for simulating the global illumination..for improving their realism.

  • Tech engine, sound effects, artistic style and polygonal models were there. Level design was not

  • @hardstyle905 With Rage they made the graphics so bad to the point that it was nothing but a blur, Quake 3 is from 1999 and has 10 times better graphics.

  • @soberek I do very well.
