@negativeeffect2 actually, i purchaced this phone a couple months ago. you ARE able to remove the data package if you activate the phone via telephone, and ask them to.
also, very good phone! no problems so far. *knock on wood*

@MrTeachYa Actually, you HAVE to have a data plan with the new feature phones, and even the older ones like the Env3 and Touch.
