Near You Always by Jewel (Guitar cover)

Me playing "Near You Always". I've been learning how to play the guitar for a few months and I took on this song to learn. I know it's not played at its best but is a fun song to play.
Anyone want to sing it? :)

I have provide a link to the tabs below. The verse in the tabs I have provided in the link are more accurate to the way Jewel plays it now (which I like more). The tabs I used in the video were taken from the Pieces of You Songbook which was not written by Jewel which is why is not that accurate.. Not a huge difference between the two but still noticeable. @benkrawks Yes. I started playing "Don't" because it's an easier song to play and then moved on to "Near You Always". I learned it in parts. "Near You Always" took me like two months to learn but I did practice about an hour everyday. Overall I had been playing guitar for less than a year.

is the guitar tuned different from the standard tuning?

Yes. Open D tuning.

Aww this isn't fair. You're so good. I've been trying to figure out HOW to play just the CHORDS to this song. I THINK I have it but its really not sounding good. Any idea what just the CHORDS are? Like without plucking. Just strumming?

I really need to practice more and face open tunings! I get so tired of turning my guitar I really need one for open tuning and one for standard. But I digress, brilliant. I absolutely must learn this song. I could hear the song in my head and tried singing along but I cant hit those high notes with out scream:) bravo. 5 stars!
