@FeelOfFriction I'm not so sure novelty theory applies only to earth. If you listen to McKenna he can relate novelty theory to all of the Universe and it's inherent bio-systems that develop over time. The Universe is about 15 billion years old. Earth is 5 billion years old. I would say that it is impossible that the earth we live on is the only planet with the higher lifeforms like humans. Novelty would also apply to their experience as well.
