The World Culture Open 2004 Cultural Competition was held in Seoul, Korea. Nearly 400 artists from every inhabitable continent in the world had landed on the Korean peninsula that night, eager to share and exchange their artistic traditions and cultural heritage. This Uyghur dance(Dawanqing qizi) is the winner of the competition(Dance) highest award- World Peace award.
Dancer is Dilnar Abdulla,music is from the Uyghur folk song Qemberhan.

Other competition winners-- Music: Morin Khuur (Mongolia), Martial Arts: Baek Ey Sun In (Korea), Body, Mind, Spirit Cultivation: Chen Style Tai Chi Center (Korea), Extreme Martial Arts (USA)
The main selection criterion for the WCO 2004 Cultural Competition evaluated a competitor's ability to reflect the values/ideals inherent in the word'Harmony.' Thus the cultural competition forged a new standard: to promote dialogue and to exchange cultural wisdoms as well as to value each culture's excellence and worth.
Contestants are from the following countries:
Ghana, Greece, Thailand, India, Australia, Brazil,Netherlands,Indonesia,Poland,Russia,Panama,Taiwan,Philippines,Uzbekistan,­Azerbaijan,Kazakhstan,Venezuela,Iran,Kenya,Sudan,Belgium,Srilanka, Japan, Vietnam, France, Peru, Tanzania, Mali......

  • in a interview she said, that time her ankle was injured, but she insisted to perform. When on the stage, as she started to dance several steps, amazingly she didn't feel any pain on her ankle and there she kept dancing. Until the final step, she felt her ankle can't be moved again, thus made her couldn't stand up. The juries was very shocked to found out she was injured yet she could perform outstandingly.

  • she is from Xinjiang,China. She is Uighur's wellknown dancer , famous for her sharp technique and sweet performance. Her name is Dilnar Abdulla. she also sings as well.
