Latin Soul Jazz at it's best, with" live-in-studio" type of soundin' session.. For the 1st time, the two parts of this tremendous 45.. Specially dedicated to Cecilia E.M., from Buenos Aires..
My friends and I used to listen to this song over and over on an 8 track back in the 60's. We would cruise over Mullholland Drive, through Tuna Canyon and eventually end up on the PCH. The minute this song came on, we were transported to Rio de Janiero, or any Latin Paradise for that matter. Later in life, I wrote a chart for a 16 piece band, based on Conquistadores. It was a huge hit amongst the audiences we played for. I love Gabor Szabo's guitar work and Chico's percussion.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Been looking all over for this one. A classic percussion piece that brings to mind the brother's in Philly on the corner and in the park playing their drums in the late 60's. Back then every band needed a percussion player. The song was so popular that they played it on a.m. radio along with " I'll Never Go Back To Georgia" by El-Pito-Joe Cuba.
My father loved this - I remember this was the very first guitar solo i learned note for note - wow havent heard this in years wow - thanks for posting
