http://josephcoker.com/ Debut album coming out this summer!
Airing out a new version of one of my old songs, the house band at this cafe "learned" this song 5 minutes before we played it, those guys are great musicians.
The song is kind of about the contrast between the materialism in the holiday season and the sense that its supposed to be a "special" time...or its about weed...jk
Joy to the World
7:30
driving early
coming home late to Christmas
passion wasteland
tree line racin
check the mile sign
better hurry
ch.
There are feelings you cant outrun
like thunderclouds that cant be bribed
and pockets empty like an open mouth
can make you doubt
you ever knew Joy to the World
Catholic church
all astir
draws a midnight crowd to witness
in there windows
stained symbols
shining peace on all us restless
