Tens of thousands of people have staged one of the biggest anti-nuclear rallies in Tokyo since the Fukushima accident in March, last year. Labor union activists joined members of the public in the main protest rally at Yoyogi Park on Monday. Many of them responded to calls on the social network Twitter and the Internet. Organizers say
170, 000 people took part in the rally, while police estimate the number at 75,000.

NHK didn't broadcast half of this world news for the country. It's so terrible.

Pro-nuclear activists don't understand science, because it's hard. They don't understand thermodyamics. They never heard of the concept of entropy.

no we should invest in the proven nuclear technology to cut down on emissions. Molten salt and VHTR reactors which are far safer than ever before.

Read my comment again. "the only useful thing for solar so far is help reduce the cost of your monthly bill and a slight strain on the grid."

If you claim that solar creates a "slight strain on the grid" because it supplies electricity,

then that means coal and nuclear force a TREMENDOUS strain on the grid because they currently (no pun) supply even more electricity.

However, unlike coal and nuclear, the cost per watt for solar and wind is MUCH less.

So where's all that so-called "too cheap to meter" electricity that nuclear & coal promised? Huh?

So you prefer to waste trillions of dollars on an UNPROVEN technology - fusion - when we've had a PROVEN technology - wind and solar - for over 4 decades?

Coal & nuclear activists just want to intefere and bully solar and wind and wave companies and consumers and take away our freedom of choice of energy supply.

but for solar and wind which is something that is simply unreliable. That won't solve any of our neergy problems. FUSION reactors will when they find a way to make it work.

the only useful thing for solar so far is help reduce the cost of your monthly bill and a slight strain on the grid. But also put in mind construction costs which are still very high.

LED lights are very usefull. They are twice as bright as incandescent, last much longer and use less power so that's a triple advantage. That's something that can be implemented in every home for the next 10 years. They can even duplicated the warm lighting of incandescent.

yeah sure you are. If you where a mathmetician then you would have already estimated that solar and wind power is nowhere near efficient enough to supply the world for it's energy demands. Solar and wind also clutters the land scape giving them a gigantic footprint.
