  • Cecilia does so many superb jobs on soprano aria's that I start doubting if she even is a mezzo.

  • Quite special!

Cecilia is actually a mezzo, yet she's

doing a super job on a soprano aria.

  • @compeld2sing and on top of all this she is a gorgeous lady!

  • The point is not if she is a mezzo or not... I think she knows better than everyone here what she is, please. But the real point is music. Is it music? Yes, beautiful music... So, we can start discussing the quality of the voices rather than vocal range.

  • I don't understand people who think if a mezzo does a soprano role/aria decently we should at least give her credit for trying... I mean singing is singing... if u want to sing something, make sure you will do so superbly, like what celicia does here.... This is one of my fav recordings... Incredible... Only second to barbara schlick...

  • Who on earth cares about labels like mezzo or soprano when someone sings like this? If I were Caesar, I would leave the world for Cecilia Bartoli.

  • è abbassata di mezzotono!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @musikenergy It wouldn't, I've heard her do Queen of the Night. Was just saying this is a lowered version. :)

  • @Samarachelle I've heard several sopranos sing it in this key. And I also know she's a mezzo. I guess I need to pull up an original score to see what key its in. Even the opera Norma is performed in a lower key from the original intended, even at the Met. I've heard Bartoli in soprano roles, and she's great doing both, so I'm sure a whole or half step higher would not break her. :-)

  • @musikenergy No. Look up any other version. Cecilia Bartoli is a mezzo, and as a soprano I sing this in F major (original key).

  • I love this. Maybe better than some sopranos have done it. Great job Cecilia!

  • @Samarachelle No its not. She's singing it in the original key.
