Cartoons are still very sexist and racist. Check out Baby Bratz if you don't believe us. Programs for our youth would improve in quality and content if they were independent from advertising. If they were commercial free they might offer more diverse points of view representing every sector of society. While this video, "Don't be a TV: Television Victim, was made in 1992 much of the information is still relevant. Video games today are much more realistic and graphically violent. The profits of this multi-billion dollar game industry is being protected by a bevy of first amendment lawyers. The harms of these violent video games are largely hidden due to our underfunded mental health and pediatric health community. See for yourself what the American Medical Association says. They don't advise that any child 2 years old or under should be placed in front of a screen of any sort. Many parents or elders are too often addicted to watching to notice or care what the child does. The average American spends 10 years of their life watching TV. Try this exercise. Watch 15 minutes of TV news with no sound. Watch any program for 15 minutes with no sound. Then watch TV for 30 minutes without ever turning the power on. You could actually watch yourself WATCH. Break out of colonized consciousness. To order the full Silver Apple Award winning video by Jenai Lane and Ann Simonton, go to www.mediawatch.com and get your DVD today!! • This is all very true. Unfortunately.

  • the part about blonde males and dark skinned villains is just bullshit. They might have accents sometimes but certain accents mix well with a deep or snake-like voice. Has little to do with race.

I could also point out that most "violence" isn't really what i'd call violence but rather action. Suspense and explosions have appeal, but murder and torture are seldom seen in cartoons. When i play a shooter game it's not to simulate killing but to win.

  • Da Fuck is this? What kind of video games were those? I hate TV anyway. Maybe I was the only one to not take it seriously. . .like some people. Video games were just out of control substance to me. Ehh. . .no thumbs. I'm a thumbless freak.

  • Unfortunately though, if these basic things aren't allowed to be shown, our constitutional rights will have been infringed. We won't always be happy. maybe it's time to add a new ammendment.

  • EXCELLENT !! 5 stars

  • I disagree but not wholelly. I agree but partially.

  • i like your videos

  • There are evolutionary reasons for behavioral differences between the genders. ALL human societies have valued a perception of beauty, charm and nurture in women, and value men as leaders, protectors and providers. Humans have always discriminated based on those factors and always will. Instilling guilt about instincts developed over thousands of years only breeds confusion and insecurity and leads to a breakdown of trust in male/female relationships. Mostly, it hurts our children. So, STOP IT!
