Victim Episode 2: Don't Tell Anyone

Chapter 2:
Dont tell anyone

Joes POV
I couldnt believe what I was hearing. What kind of monster would do this to someone? I didnt know what to say. What do you say when youre told something like that? I wish Kevin were awake, he would know what to do.

Joe: Nick, Did you tell someone? Maybe we should tell mom or dad.

Nick: No! Joe, we cant say a word.

Joe: but Nick

Nick: No Joe! Im handling it. Ok? The sooner I forget about it the better. Promise me you wont say a word!

Normal POV
Joe nodded his head in a silent agreement. He didnt know what else to do but respect his brothers wishes. Joe decided to let Nick calm down and went back to his room. He couldnt sleep. The rest of the night Nick and Joe both sat up tossing and turning. At 7:00 am Joe decided to stop trying and went downstairs for breakfast. Kevin was already up making some eggs for Frankie.

Kevin: Morning Joe, man you look like crap

Joe: Thanks

Joe sat down next to Frankie and poured some juice. Frankie was stacking toast on his cup and making his army men take a swim. Joe took a gulp of juice and looked around for Nick, he was no where.

Joe: Nick still sleeping?

Kevin: No, he left about 20 minutes ago for a walk. He said he needed to clear his head before school

Joe finished the rest of his juice, and hurriedly got ready for school and ran out the door. He wanted to find Nick and make sure he was ok. Joe was almost to the school when he spotted nick sitting at the park. He cautiously walked up to his brother and sat on the bench next to him.

Joe: want to talk about it?

Nick POV
Maybe I shouldnt have said anything. I couldnt take it back, could I? No. There was something that I didnt tell Joe about that night, I saw the mans face. I shuddered at the thought of it. Joe noticed me shiver and took off his jacket and wrapped it around me.

Joe: Nick? What is it?

Nick: I just want to forget it.

Joe: I know

Nick: I cant, as hard as I try every time I close my eyes it replays over and over again.

Normal POV
Joe put his arm around Nicks shoulder and both boys sat there in the quiet for a while. Joe looked at his watch, 8:15. They were late for school. Joe stood up and took Nicks hand and lifted him up.

Joe: Come on, I have an idea.

Joe and Nick didnt walk to the school they walked back toward home and stopped at the house three doors down from theirs, Codies. Joe tapped on the door and Codie answered.

Codie: What are you guys doing? Shouldnt you be at school?

Joe: shouldnt you be at school?

Codie: Come inside

The boys walked in and sat down on the couch.

Codie: So whats up? And how did you know I was home?

Joe: Its the last day of the month, you never go to school on the last day of the month.

Codie: True.

Joe, Codie, and Nick all sat at Codies the rest of the day. They didnt do much really but Nick felt a little better being in the company of one of his best friends and his big brother and for the first time since the incident Nick smiled.
