This video is in response to those who say "Islaam allows wife beating!" hmmm, let's analyse...

This is one of the most common Qur`anic passages that is misunderstood and misused by both Muslims and non-Muslims. It is verse 34 of Surah an-Nisa. The English translation of this verse reads as follows:

"Men are (meant to be righteous and kind) guardians of women because God has favored some more than others and because they (i.e. men) spend out of their wealth. (In their turn) righteous women are (meant to be) devoted and to guard what God has (willed to be) guarded even though out of sight (of the husband). As for those (women) on whose part you fear ill-will and nasty conduct, admonish them (first), (next) separate them in beds (and last) "beat them". But if they obey you, then seek nothing against them. Behold, God is most high and great. (4:34)

Thus, if a woman rebels against the teachings of Islaam, then he should follow this method of admonishing her, forsaking her in bed and hitting her. But that doesn't mean he has got permission to beat her black and blue! Islaam has explained, what is meant by "hitting" it can not be harsh in any way or cause injury. Al-Hasan al-Basri (Tabieen) said: this means that it should not cause pain. 'Ata' said: I said to Ibn 'Abbaas (Sahaaba), what is the kind of hitting that is not harsh? He said, Hitting with a siwaak and the like. [A siwaak is a small stick or twig used for cleaning the teeth - Translator]

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "The best of you is the one who is best towards his wife, and I am the best of you towards my wives." (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 3895; Ibn Maajah, 1977; classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami, 3314)

  • er, men are not in charge of women.

that thought is sick and twisted, misogynistic and distasteful in every way that matters!.

Sorry to quote the bible that I despise but:-

"let he who is without sin cast the first stone"

I don't see how your men have earned the right to have this control!.

    sort your selves out first!.

What if the man is corrupt and the women needs to exact correctitude!

  • Men are maintainers and protectors over women, I don't see what is so wrong abt that! who will look after the women! it's got nothing to do with control... If a man is currupt 1) would not have married him, 2) if he turned out to be a looser and has no hope to change Islam permits divroce! i dont see what that quote from bible has to do with anything..

  • In Islam men have the respondsibility of looking after their women, the women do not hold that respondisibility.. being a Muslim Women, I love that! I dont know what woman in general would have a problem with that...its not really something our men have earned, but more like a big trust given to them.marriage in Islam is no joke or light matter,it is a trust from God.one shouldnt marry if they cant fulful their respondisibities

  • MashAllah! Nice clip, bro.

  • i dont find that funny dynisty, bring forth your proof for your claims against Muhammed (s) ?

  • Sorry this is a bit random but what are you studying? Anthropology by any chance? Interesting essay title, hope your essay went well insha'Allah (God willing). Peace.

  • Thanks for this, I have to write an essay entitled "Do Muslim women need saving?" for uni, and it's difficult to find sources that don't believe that they do.

It's great to see someone spreading the real facts of Islam, not the biased ideas seen in the media. :)

  • Mashallah keep it up
