i checked my car speaker the same way as vid and i get a differet read every time also seems to not stop increasing read if i leave it on what could cause this to happen thanks

@Johnnysshop I have 240V supply 60W lamp and 0.25A through it. But when I try to measure the resistance through the lamp I get a reading which is incompatible with the (I)^2 R = Power or the (V)^2 / R = Power.
I have tried to read the inductance and find the reactance from 2 x Pi x frequency x inductance....then use the Z = SQRT ( resistance ^2 + reactance ^2)
But that doesn't give a good answer either. I'm not 100% sure I'm reading the inductance correctly. I'm a novice.

@Johnnysshop mine has the option but I like the beep I don't need to look at the mm

@freezzertime Same way, they all have some markings on them.
How do you measure resistance in a domestic appliance?

@uptilwhen Same way, red probe to the positive, black to the negative.

@Johnnysshop what about measuring a current through a lamp, say? Does it matter if the leads are attached to the 'neutral' (black/blue) or the 'live' (red/brown) side of the circuit?

@uptilwhen Either is fine since there isn't a ground. Basically you could just test the outlet with the lamp scenario. The voltage would be exactly the same as there are no transformers or anything in a lamp to regulate the voltage.
