  • The UNT Wind Symphony CD with this performance of the Higdon Percussion Concerto has been released by GIA!!

  • what happened to the china cymbal?? isnt it supposed to hang upsidedown, or can it be played both ways? will it produce a different sound?

  • @zuzrwolrd - A china cymbal can be played either "right side" up for more resonance or "upside down" for more attack. Normally drum set players play the china cymbal upside down. In the Higdon Concerto I preferred the color and resonance of the china cymbal mounted right side up. Thanks for checking out the video! The CD will be released this fall.

  • It's nice to see a little comic relief in a percussion solo. Keeps the audience awake! Great job Mark!

  • SPECTACULAR! I can't wait to hear the recording!
