The result of a long-distance collaboration with Robert Arkins, a composer based in Dublin, whom I met on-line. Robert's vision is that the piece will be performed by a primarily acoustic ensemble of musicians from behind the screen where the video is projected.
The soundtrack heard here is an electronic realization of the piece. It has been a privilege and a pleasure to work with this music -- I consider the electronic version to be a fine piece in its own right, and am curious to hear what it is intended to sound like. The music is influenced by (among others) early American Minimalism and a style called Spectralism, which (as I can best describe it) explores the nature of sound.
Yeah, what Walker-san said! ;-) It's mind-blowingly beautiful.

This is so beautiful, Emile! The opening footage is just really beautiful..........I'd love to do a piece just to a loop of those clouds coming in. The music also has a very gamelan approach as well as the early minimalism that you sited on Loopers Delight. Really beautiful and moving work. Made my evening........thanks.
