How do I know the Bible is true?

There's some good teachings in there, but did Jesus rise from the dead, feed thousands, heal people and stuff? How can I believe all that? Find out in this Young Catholic Minute!

Science isnt about knowing, it is about doubting. That is why it leads to new frontiers while 'knowing' (aka faith) just makes people feel good. But just as you can't really prove that you're not a brain in a jar experiencing life through virtual reality, your assumptions on how you proceed should be based on evidence. It is doing this on such topics as evolution and every other great theory that leads to more discovery, more theories, and more advances.

WOW this is a very bad arguement -- you can't prove that the book of scientology or the Koran is not true either.

You can't prove alot of thing -- that dosen't mean it is automatically true

@buddhikaw The auhtority you speak of (the Catholic Church) would not order something like that so your example is null. I fhte Church asked me to do something more logical then yes, I would. It has existed for two thousand years longer than I have, it is made up of elected and appointed officials all of which are holders of some religious degree, I trust their knowledge more than another's.

@buddhikaw Well, of course the Torah is true, it is part of the Bible, it just does not include the New Teastament as well as af few other Old Testament books. The Quran is NOT true however, because there exists no established authority to tell you this. The Catholic Church has an established authority thta many other religions (including Protestant churches) lack.

So what if one person I trust tells me the bible is true, and another tells me the Torah is true and another tells me the Quaran is true and the other tells me they they came back from the dead? How do I determine who if any of them are telling me the truth?
