@bdpatton2 Well you can screw an eye bolt into each of your trees and then put a carabiner through the loop and connect it to the eye bolt

You can see the easy Hammock Version 2.0 if you click on the big red box at the beginning of this video.

SO what do you do with the two ends now after you tie them with a pigtail know!? They look to short to tie around a tree?! Just curious, cause I'd like to do this, but not sure where to go from there, I can prob make something up but I like where you're going with it so far.

Great instruction! However, the looser the hammock, the shorter the Arc radius of the hammock. Resulting in an uncomforortable nights sleep. My recommendation: Tie the hammock as tight as possible to trees that are as far apart as possible (30 feet or so). Just make sure that your rope and hammock can support 700-800 pounds of tension. Note:Thats the rope tension that will result for a 200 lb person if tied very tight. However, your hammock will be much flatter, thus, much more comfortable.

Excellent demonstration.
What type of rope and material to use?
What length of rope?
Glad you find it useful. See also Easy hammock 2.0 in my videos.

Any old sheet will do. Climbing rope is best, but if you plan to stay close to the ground any old rope will do too...
Check the working load of the rope, and understand that the tighter the rope (stretching the hammock real tight) the more strain you're putting on it.
Let it hang more -- keep it loose.
