@MrCSXboy98 Actually it depends on what kind of train though. Urban light rail/rapid transit should also serve the purpose for more localized travel, so even then trains are still the most efficient, the problem is that not enough American cities take advantage of the benefits or plan the system correctly or efficiently.

@comlien how explaine: trains can be run on bio-fuels including the oil used to make that burger you ate a few days ago and a plane never turns off its jets plaines would get the equivalent to about 10 feet to the gallon versus a train gets 10-20 miles to the gallon if running on diesel which as we have seen they don't need to. once again planes have to use jet fuel. i am running out of space just look at RELIABLE sources and you will see the really what i am saying

@comlien not true. when planes are idiling, there jet engines are always on. one barrel of oil makes only 2-3 gallons of jet fuel, while makes 15 of diesel. And try running a plane with refined cooking oil.

@caltrain2 Trains is an amazing feat by man. Short distance travel, less then 1 hour, should be saved for vehicles. More then 1 hour 30 mins of travel, that should be for trains.

in 2012, the caltrain is going to be electrificated when they get the California high speed rail Work on, and the Caltrain and the high speed rail will go into the new Transbay Terminal whare it will meet busses and barts.
