Well done mate, bravo. I'm learning this piece at the moment, it's quite tricky, but I'll get here. Nice work!

@Shuggydylan Thanks

@kingpupnyc Cheers. Book I mention very good transcriptions as well. Suggest others to buy it online somehwere. Out of print, but maybe someone selling ? I offer free tabs to songs etc ( as jameigtr2007), so totally into "sharing". But as regards books etc, I need to respect copyright re photocopying etc. I wrote a few books, ragtime , jazz, (never got published). But as an "almost author, must repect copyright, or I would share transcriptions from the book etc. So good work you do, ma man

@Shuggydylan No offense taken, just setting the record straight in case there was any doubt one way or the other. I've never actually seen any Jansch transcriptions in print except the Stefan Grossman Blackwaterside. This tab was probably one of my better ones, some of the other ones have some questionable parts in and a few mistakes, probably a factor of the red wine which I have to say was behind all of these tabs!

sorry, Jamie. A compliment to you that your transcription was so accurate!! No offense meant . Was a general statement. As an ex guitar teacher, I had many books in which I saw exact transcrptions of material in them online. And why not? Not meant as a slur in any way. I was also making others aware of the book, tryin ta be helpful, ma man!. Read ma other comments, pl;ease!! Iam jamiegtr2007 AND shuggydylan (my comedy character). So, keep twanging, and no direspectmeant =)

@Shuggydylan I am Jamie Phillips, who originally tabbed the piece from which troubleclef brilliantly plays here. I'm not sure what's going on in the discussion here but if there's some suggestion that I "borrowed" the transcription from a book I can assure you that isn't the case! I tabbed this one night in early 2004 with the aid of a bottle of red wine and some headphones. It's a relatively simple piece and easy to hear so I wouldn't be surprised if the two transcriptions match.

ps lots of people used original PUBLISHED books and copied/hand wrote, or typed, tab. So would not be surprised if Doug Kennedy's book was subject of "borrowing.> So note for note, as you play here, that is unbelieveable that someone would come up with so accurate a transcription as is in Dougi's book!!. I saw stuff on Olga years ago that were from books I had!!. But as regards any particulat transcriber, I can't say --) James

Nice one, my friend troubleclef. Methinks you ahve early book of transcriptions by Doug Kennedy (I got it years ago) ? James

damn, that sounds SO good...so this is where Jimmy Page got the blueprint for "WhiteSummerBlackMountain" (or whatever it's called- can't remember)? this is so different from the R&B version we all love! is the original still around somewhere?

@BriggoTheKat
I think White Summer is more based on Davy Graham's "She moved through the fair" and Black Mountain Side is from Jansch's "Blackwaterside". But each of them (Graham and Jansch) had their sources too so everybody borrowed from everybody else.
Bert's rendering of this tune does bear a resemblance to "blackwaterside" as to a few other of his instrumentals.
Jansch and Graham cd's are still widely available. Check itunes, amazon, etc.

isn't this black waterside ?

pretty similar but not quite the same tune/arrangement
