Swing low, sweet chariot Coming for to carry me home Swing low, sweet chariot Coming for to carry me home I looked over Jordan and what did I see Coming for to carry me home A band of angels coming after me Coming for to carry me home (chorus) Sometimes I'm up and sometimes I'm down Coming for to carry me home But still my soul feels heavenly bound Coming for to carry me home (chorus) The brightest day that I can say Coming for to carry me home When Jesus washed my sins away, Coming for to carry me home. (chorus) If I get there before you do Coming for to carry me home I'll cut a hole and pull you through Coming for to carry me home (chorus) If you get there before I do Coming for to carry me home Tell all my friends I'm coming too Coming for to carry me home (chorus)

Swing Low was the original, written down by Wallis Willis around the early to mid 1800's; Swing Down was a sort of variation of the tune and lyrics popularized in the 1940's. After Elvis performed Swing Down it became increasingly popular to combine both tunes like in Beyonce's and B.B. King's versions. In any case, the lyrics in the description are for Swing Low and do not match the words sung in the video here.

  • @Eivyll Swing down sweet chariot is actually part of (swing low). Just found out, at least in Beyonce's version.

  • Wrong song. This is Swing Down, not Swing Low. Two different songs.

  • wrong lyrics for this song

  • this is not "Swing Low Sweet Chariot" ;)

  • Jesys loved you and you loved Him--I jyst wish your last days would have been

used in reaching out to people and helping them to see Jesus IS REAL... RIP LOVE PHILILLIE

  • @qlenda Nope, sorry, Elvis was a top Gospel singer, but Gentleman Jim (Reeves) was just as good
