What makes it funny is that his wife was the passenger and she was pissed that he spent their retirement fund on a shiny new float plane.

It is a Cessna 185. The dorsal fin in front of the rudder is large; 180s have a smaller dorsal fin.

It has the square cut tail, only found on 180s and 185, and sometimes on old 172s.

Sure its not a 182? Got modern cowling/nacelle shapes and has square wingtips.
