Personal finance expert Carmen Wong Ulrich speaks to the "Early Show" anchors about the results of a new CBS News poll about Black Friday shopping tendencies, and where to find the best deals.
How are such Americans are going to be spending any money when they are out of work? Those who has any money and a job, are going to hold on their money than taking a chance of buying.
Page 2: Go into a WalMart Supercenter, a Target, or any other major retailer. Skip the grocery section & go to apparel, housewares, tools, and small appliances. As you move down the aisle, start counting the number of products made in China. Get serious about it---Look at the back of packaging, look under the cartons. It is China, China, China. It is like some foreign cancer came in during the past 20 years & rotted out half the guts of US industry. It is time for a consumer revolt. Start now!
Like many Americans, I am not spending one dollar for this entire week, other than groceries that I bought last week. I am not buying into the entire Black Friday hype and manipulation. The New York mainstream media treat Americans as if we were little programmable consumer robots. But many of us know that every dollar spent is a political act. This annual consumption carnival that is supposed to celebrate the European colonization of North America and the birth of Jesus Christ is getting old.
