I was in attendance at this recital in Cleveland, OH. The whole recital was on this flawless level of infinitely natural renditions of Chopin. Combining a 19th-century sense of line with inevitable intuition in rubato and touch. The emotional palette is multi-hued yet subtle. This recording but a hint of the sense of sound Babayan renders in the hall to his very grateful listeners.
