    How can you dislike this song? The melody is so catchy. It's great music. Too many people know nothing but to judge everything from a political bent, even music. This is a classic song. Take it for what is and don't make it nuclear war. The world is full of dangerously pious assholes.

    There first hit was She Cried in 1962 with the original Jay Traynor.The new Jay, is David Black on this song.

    If you think this is propaganda! The song was written for the Drifters, but the record company wouldn't let them record it because of the lyrics.That's why they gave to Jay and the Americans.

    (The "white Drifters...") Always well-crafted records, this was their first big hit, and I always assumed that they were of P.R. extraction, or at least Jay Black was... and then his son, Bo, told me, while he was a student of mine, that they were Jewish.
