Steam explosiong caused by heating a bottle mostly full of water with a metal stopper superglued in, put inside mircrowave with door clamped shut. The steam pressure rips the oven to shreds. Water temp estimated at 200 deg C. Video at 1/6th speed.

  • That microwave was thrown out by someone, would have gone straight to the landfill. The remains were sent to the recycling depot.

  • Ah but that 100 degrees is at ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE. The boiling point of a liquid is defined as the temperature at which its vapour pressure equals atmospheric pressure. As the water is being contained in a small pressure vessel, it will continue to remain a liquid for well over 100 degrees, until the bottle can take no more. Upon rupture of the bottle, the atmospheric pressure is reduced, and the water flash boils to steam, which is most of the bang.

  • Yes all I am saying it says the water temperature is at around 200C, it had at that point it become steam, which it can go even higher.
