It's an outdoor scene where I just run around the castle thing at the beginning of the game.

This is a demo I made of Elder Scrolls Oblivion. The original recording is 1280x720 @ 30fps and taken using Fraps. Yes, this recording actually follows the 720p HD standard.

I have all the ingame graphics options maxed out with HDR enabled. I also have a few graphics modifications installed so the distant textures doesn't look like absolute crap.

The original file is available here:

None of you should have trouble playing back the audio but the video on this file is encoded using x.264 so you will need a compatible decoder. FFDSHOW is the most reliable but CoreAVC should work as well.

  • i have one more question, are you running it with antialiasing?

  • No I'm not.

  • Hmm, would a Nvidia GeForce 7900GS or 7950 run it like that? Nice vid btw.

  • Thanks. It probably would play it fine. Don't forget I'm running FRAPS in the background here. Normally my framerate is around 40+ fps when I'm not recording.

  • Heh. Honestly, it's an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+, Radeon x1900GT 256mb, 1gb of ram and I'm running 2 80gb HDDs in a RAID0 configuration.

  • It's a 386 @ 25mhz. I have a 1mb ISA video accellerator card and 4mb of ram. My HDD is 40mb!

  • hmm... always liked the image quality on ATI based cards, Nvidia is alright, but nice.
