I found helpful to turn on TV and take away my attention to something on TV, because mine starts usually only in the middle of the night when I sleep and suddenly wake up, I never had real panic attack when I'm awake. I may feel scared and badly anxious, but I'm saying the pray (just the way you know), washing my face and drinking lots of water really helps.
Also I meet some people that stopped their panic attacks by carrying aspirin with them, because their actual fear to die from heart attack.

I have been suffering this problem since 1999.I am much mooree better for 1 year. I think its all about developing self confidence(Think about the things you are good at and your success, send positive messages to your sub mind) get life standarts higher, dont worry about the life and people because it is not only depends on you, dont be too emotion one and do not get afraid of having the attack again. Thats my way

Although I agree with this lady, an improvement perhaps would be to use positive affirmations....For instance, instead of using " I am not afraid" using incantations laden with positivity such as " I am courageous", "I am brave", "I am supremely strong", " I am at peace"...and so on...This is so the mind will focus on positive words and not negative ones.
