@OneManCrew dat geloof ik zeker! Heb zelf eens de 5519 mogen bedienen tijdens de opendeurdag van Kinkempois op 18-05-2008, echt kippenvelmomentje. Deze video heeft me eigenlijk bewogen afgelopen donderdag met een goede vriend Kinkempois te bezoeken, het personeel was zeer vriendelijk dus heb zeker goede ervaringen! :)

I remember these engines from back in the 1970's until the mid 1990s. They used them to run between Ronse and Oudenaarde. We always watched them in louise-marie. They are the reason I feel in love with trains. Every summer I would go to visit my family in Ronse and there was a tunnel right near the house and you could hear them climbing out of Ronse. We must have ran 1000 down the hill and to the louise-marie station watch them go into the tunnel.

@GerardHLD55 Bedankt Gerard, het was een magisch moment! En zeker toen die instructeur van NK voorstelde om zelf de machine te bedienen, jij hebt ook goede ervaringen met de mensen van Kinkempois :-)

@noggin48 For now, Infrabel is using this type 55 locos for track maintenance, carrying al sorts of big and smaller tools. But on occasions like at Kinkempois, we as big fans can still enjoy the sound and hear the engine scream. I also was in luck that I ran into an instructor outside the 5517, I asked him if it was possible to make some noise (hitting the throttle :p) and it was no problem, he even said that I could do it! So I did and it was magical, controlling the thoughts of such a beast!

Heerlijk! Ik mag aannemen dat je wel gehoorbescherming op had toen je in de machinekamer stond ;-) Machinekamer van de loc ziet er zeker nog goed uit van binnen moet ik zeggen, jammer dat de locs nauwelijks nog worden ingezet.
