If you've already built the MFOS WSG you may be asking yourself... what next? Well maybe the MFOS 10 Step Sequencer would be a good follow on project. This video shows how the MFOS 10 Step Sequencer can be used to control the WSG with a small modification to the WSG. For complete details about the mod go to www.musicfromouterspace.com.

  • I would say that it is squarely in the realm of analog synth. The CMOS CD40106 is used to generate the actual tones (rectangular waves) you hear and the filter is straight analog. In digital synths there is generally a CPU and ROM memory that holds snippets of digital representation of the sounds the synth makes.

  • do you need to do the mod to run them through the sequencer?

  • @1787dude You need to do the mod so that the sequencer can be used to modulate the frequency.

  • COOOOOOOL AS USUAL :)

  • This is brilliant, such great sounds from a pretty simple circuit. I haven't got round to building a WSG yet and I'm already thinking about modding it. Cheers
