  • Well we didn't leave them for the first batch. However we did use apples off the orchard floor mainly so they may have been standing for a few days too a week I guess. We did a second batch 6 weeks later using apple only from the orchard floor these would have been lying around a little longer I guess. The second batch is better. Ill collect some apples and let them stand this year. Thanks for the tip.

  • Do you leave your apples to stand?. I leave mine out, in the field next to the house, for 2 weeks after collecting. You get loads more juice out of them and the ph drops, which makes for a better tasting cider.
