very good point The problem is that everything is too common. Their old album had originality! so much of it. It didnt sound like common chord progs and melodies. See my point? when i say katy perry, i mean pop music in general. And im excluding lyrics cuz pop lyrics are pure poison and hoosiers lyrics are cool

@mikebagel27 The difference is that Katy's lyrics are utter trash - generic, often about sex, California or whatnot. Hoosiers lyrics are deep, insightful and have meaning to them. Those things you mentioned, especially chord progressions and vocal melodies, are common to many songs.
