Stupid? Man, you are one arrogant SOB. You really are just a bag of hot air. But kid, chill, I teach you a little bit:
The THEL program emerged out of a conceptual defense against Katyushas and other small rockets fired into the north of Israel. B. Clinton and S. Peres signed some papers and for 86 mill. $ TRW built a prototype. 300 $ mill. and a lot of accidents later Israel's north is still (laser)defenseless - oh wait - the Lebanon incident.
Sep. 2005 the THEL project was silently EOLed.

And on an additional note, you pseudo-scientists. Stop babbling about things you obviously don't comprehend.
But to humor you childish counter. Some reasons that did stall the THEL concept:
1. Heat Resistant Coating Layers (HRCL)
2. different missile form - minimum cross-section surface area that is exposed to laser
3. hyper-cavitating torpedoes
4. scillating or chaotic trajectory
5. explosive reactive armour / cellularised fuel
6. aerospike (anti-lock-on)
Go do your homework before posting!

With plasma shielding - no. Trapped particles are crucial to shielding, but the trapped-particle distribution does not reach a steady state before the trapped particles bounce, thereby violating the unperturbed-orbit technique used in the derivation.
Besides - it would sufficiently allow radiation (ie. lasers) to pass through.

Lol again you're wrong. We developed our own lasers, god you're so stupid. The flag is there because we are building these lasers to help protect israel and western europe.
-
No it isn't jdaxes and what you just said is completely wrong, the only thing they can stop lasers is plasma shielding which the USA is already ahead of every country in developing. Get your facts straight before posting.

The original concept and idea comes from the Israelis. They also did the first feasibility studies and ultimately built the first prototype ... all with US funding.
-
My guess is they don't - the exaust of the laser is already nearly leathal if you're too close while firing.
Also, with special coating on shells or even projectiles the energy yield that effectively is transferred to the target object becomes ridiculously low.
I believe the THEL concept is now under strategic reevaluation = stopped.

I think this might do it.

I think they are doing bigger lasers right now. Lasers that can drop planes or missiles in a second or less. Thatway we are very close to the star wars scenario.
If brute force doesn't solve a problem, you're not using enough of it.

Just make a bigger laser...
