I had the same issue in Tokyo. being 5'9'" and a natural was a recipe for people feeling like touching my hair was fair game. No bueno.

I love how you flipped back&forth between Spanish&English... Made it interesting for me since I'm semi fluent in Spanish. As a fellow natural sistah from the U.S.A.,I want to say that YES this does happen the U.S.Many either have odd stares, blatant disrespect for personal space or are down right appalled by natural hair on black women(or women of African descent). What's more annoying is when other Afro descendants act the same way.But as a whole it happens here too, including the no hand washing

@SoulSistahT89 Yea I've got stares in the US too, and none of my friends have ever told me anything about it in the states and when they did it wasn't at such a high frequency. Same with the bathroom! I've NEVER seen anyone wash their hands here! LOL At home it's usually every once in awhile! But yea, some of the people who touched my hair were afro descent, including the one guy in the states who did on the street, that was more of hair/sexual molestation "i kno u like it when i pull it" thing
