I like how there's MarkBass amps behind him and MarkBass banners in the background and yet he's clearly playing through the ampeg which is switched on and mic-d up at the side

"So that's what things would be like if I'd invented the Fing-Longer. Sigh."

Tony Levin is a legend; but not a music virtuoso. I've heard some younger musicians with a much stronger skill and knowledge set. But still, he is Tony Levin and he is who he is.
-
He played with John Lennon in the Plastic Ono band and in the Double Fantasy and Milk and Honey albums; classic stuff.

He is play a Sterling. I have a bass guitar jusrt like that one except mine is 4 string "pacific blue burst" finish. It's incredible.
-
He needs to trim his nails lol.

Tony Levin is famous for putting pieces of drumsticks at his fingers. With this he gets a killer-slaptone!

@TechSmack Those are Levin's "funk fingers". It's basically percussion on a string. Some other bassists adopted the technique from him.
An amazing bass played with an amazing bass guitar

If it's got strings and an amplifier, Tony Levin can make it sound good! I like the other toys he has: Chapman Sticks & electric, upright bass
