Audience members of ABC chatfest "The View" walked away today with copies of The Governor, the book by indicted former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, but little new insight into him or his wife, Patti.
The Blagojeviches made their first joint network television appearance together on the show, answering softball questions from the panel, including guest host Meghan McCain, daughter of former Republican presidential nominee John McCain.

Sherri Shepherd told Patti Blagojevich that her stint on NBC's jungle-based reality show "I'm A Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here" changed Shepherd's perception of her - for the better.
Meghan McCain told the former Illinois first lady that before she appeared on the reality show, "You were Lady Macbeth, or whatever."
Rod Blagojevich answered questions with his familiar lines proclaiming his innocence.
"I'm relying on the power of the simple truth," he said. "I know what the truth is."
Patti Blagojevich reiterated she only did the reality show for money for the mortgage and to keep their two daughters in pricey private schools.
Co-host Joy Behar got perhaps the biggest laugh of the brief appearance, suggesting that Rod Blagojevich consider a spin on the "Dancing With the Stars" dance floor.
"I'll keep an open mind," the former governor said.
