Studio Projects C1 Mic Demo

Add &fmt=18 to the end of the url for hi-def. Testing out the Studio Projects C1 Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone. Got tired of the crappy onboard mic on my Finepix point and shoot camera. Interesting note - the overall volume is quieter than the onboard mic, but that's because the onboard compresses the dynamics and shoves everything louder, including the noise floor. If you turn up the volume for this clip you'll hear that the noise floor is very low but there is more dynamic range. In other words, it sounds more "real."

mm very nice sound... does give a hiss in the sound though, what interface did you hook it onto? I'm thinking of buying this too, gonna hook it up to a MOTU 896 Original, should be ok with no noise or hiss! Very warm and clean sound considering the far away placement of this mic in your video though. Promises good things...

@Linkolytus the preamp is an M-Audio DMP3, so yes I bet the MOTU should do right by you.

The sound is very warm but do you notice noise while recording?

@TeTRoSeX no noise as a fault of the mic. It depends on ambient noise, mic placement and most of all your mic preamp - how high is the gain/sensitivity, does the preamp itself hiss or is it brittle, etc.

I have the Same Mic, i bought it last week, and i am really happy, sound iss so loud and clear "cristal clear" and it give your voice 1 to 1 back

@YoDudeRock The phantom power united was bad. I bought a decent mixer and it works fine now.
