  • my dad jon murray,he and john wadham were old friends, think the only drum teachers around dublin

  • Are you talking about the great drum teacher & Drum Shop owner Jon Murray at 56 Lr.Camden St.Dublin back in the late 60ies.If so please reply,I was a pupil.

  • Is he just playing the drums or the whole band!?

  • I don't understand the question!

  • It was rhetorical, I meant it as a compliment to the man. If he played it alone with no other instruments you'd still know what tune he's playing by from his hits etc.

  • my drum teacher was a pupil of John Wadham

  • Damn that guy was unbelievable, when I first started playing about 10yrs ago I heard how I'd have to get a lesson with him if I wanted to be serious about my drumming. Now I wish I had listened. He was effortless in that video, fantastic. I'm genuinely gobsmacked.

  • He stills sounds sounds so damn good, even though he's been gone a few years now. Sadly missed, but never forgotten.

  • Are you not confusing John Wadham with Jon Murray.Jon was the owner and teacher in The Dublin Drum Centre.(56 Lr.Camden St.This was a drums only shop.Jon gave many great saturday afternoon sessions along with Drummer Ian McGarry.Jon was one of the best teachers around & and a great musican and talent.Sadly Missed.

  • My heart skipped a beat when I saw your post! Jon was so brilliant! I don't think there are any clips of his playing. I have tapes of two clinics he did: one in the Drum Centre, the other in the Talbot Hotel in Wexford. He was such an amazing man, and so damn funny. I remember during one clinic upstairs in the Drum Centre, his small tom kept slipping down, and he muttered: "If I get my hands on the CHANCER who sold me this stand..." Everyone just broke up laughing!

  • Lol, I'm kind of jealous.

  • John trained Lloyd Hanney. :-) Lloyd Hanney is the drummer of God Is An Astronaut.
