!!! Please view updates at the end of this description !!!
Fast Kenny showcases his 1970 Les Paul Custom and his late 1960's Guild Thunderstar tube amp. The guitar is for sale @ $7995.00--he explains why, plus lets you HEAR why. The Thunderstar is only $400 (what it would have cost new in 1968 or so) but has just had $271 dollars worth of tubes, caps and speaker installed this year. Your ears will tell you what a steal this amp is. No bargaining or haggling, please. If seriously interested, email: kennyutterback@gmail.com

Sorry for having to disable comments. Quite a furor was created by things I said in the video. I'm not a salesman, but am merely speaking to the camera as I would to a friend. I will be happy to answer any questions, as best as I can, via email. I continue to research this guitar on a daily basis, and have links and some interesting insights about it to offer, if anyone is interested. Everything I said in the video is what I believe, based on conversations with Gibson techs, Vintage guitar professionals, and my buddy Jean-Paul (owner of Resound Vintage Guitars) who is a third generation luthier, and the very person who set this guitar up for me quite a few years ago, and told me it was a 1970. Thanks for your consideration, under these circumstances.

!!! Updates: Due to my finding out some interesting info from Gibson, I am poised to put this LP Custom on eBay with a "Buy It Now" of $9995.00. Turns out that the serial number isn't the last word. The numbers on the pots and the "replacement" pickup (not newer, as it turns out) have indicated that the pickup is NOT a PAF, but rather came out right after they did. The pot numbers, according to Gibson Support (I have the email on file) show that the guitar has parts from both 1969 AND 1970. Gibson told me that indicates it's a 1971; meaning SHIPPED in 1971. My luthier friend, and the one who set the guitar up and changed the 'fret-less wonder' frets to Gibson Jumbo, believes it to be put together in 1970, and sat around the factory until it shipped in 1971, if that is really how it happened. Gibson isn't sure of anything, unfortunately, regarding guitars of this serial number sequence. So, to summarize:
--The replacement pickup is not a PAF but came shortly after in 1962-1965
--The guitar may just well be a true 1970, due to internal parts mfr. dates.
--The 'mystery man' (I kept the website location) mentioned $12,000 and the 1969 Les Paul's, but indicated he would pay premium for one that honked with that "Street Fightin' Man" sound. Listen for yourself on this site.
--Alterations are the replacement pickup, Jumbo frets for longer life, and the strap-lock system (matching gold tone)

Until I figure out how to get this all to happen on eBay, without paying thru the nose for all the photos and links I need to provide, you can view pics here:
