The product wasn't a flop. The company, which was actually a defense contractor making advanced AR systems for the government, went out of business. So, no company, no product.
The backpack wasn't very heavy. You should have tried the earlier version, before anyone cared about weight!

Actually, Metamersion did exist. I playtested it three years ago at a LAN Center. Unfortunately, it was still a prototype and apparently, turned out to be a flop that dropped off the map.
Also, the backpack that you had to wear while playing was heavy, which restricted movement.

@Spectralancer i can pull that money out of my butt lol

@NerveSyrup11 err...

@Spectralancer I agree but price is a factor. The VirtuSpere costs $35 000 so most mall arcades can afford one, they also look they could be sold for a lot less so i expect to see them in homes in the near futre. The OCD will come down in price but it is a long way off.

LOL irony.

I think the ODT (omnidirectional treadmill) is the absolute best since walking in the VirtuSphere is unnatural. The ODT costs around $2,000,000 though, I've heard.

how do u move using this?

How do you move (walk, run, jump) ingame? Would be cool if you could wear gloves and vest with electrodes and little rumble-packs to simulate touch.

This is real although "MetaMersion" may not exist. I owned a VR gaming center in the 90's, and had various HMD's (Head/Helmet mounted displays) with 6 DOF head trackers... most popular games at the time were first person shooters like Quake. The first system I got was in 1993. Spend more than 10 seconds on YouTube and learn something! Look up Sony Glasstron (no longer made)... I had a pair of those in 1998. It was GREAT STUFF!
