I made this short movie not to shock people, stun people, or surprise people. I created this video to make people, who live in the prosperous countries, appreciate what they have and encourage them, or maybe even, inspire them to give back to those who are less lucky than us, to those who need our help the most. I made this video so that people, who travel to developing countries whether on business, vacations, or for any other reason, would be more attentive and considerate to the most fragile and usually most affected part of the population of a developing country - CHILDREN...

I travelled to Ecuador in July, 2007 on a medical mission with the organization called Child Family Health International. This short movie is a result of a life-changing experience, a reflection of my feelings about the plight of children in the developing countries, and a dedication to the children of Ecuador who inspired me to make this movie and who made me promise myself to return one day to Ecuador and be of a bigger help and use to those children.

  • I felt so moved by your video that I wanted to write to you and thank you. I was once an orphan in Ecuador years ago. I was adopted at a very young age and taken to another country but returned to visit Ecuador many years later. What I saw, as did you, broke my heart and still does. Where ever you are, and who ever you are...thank you for helping the people in my country.

  • @himewinku, thank you for your kind words! I just hope everyone will be able to contribute somehow...whether to children in Ecuador, Bangladesh, Uganda, Malawi, or any other place of the world where children need help ...there's just too much poverty...if everyone did their part, it could have made this world a little bit better...

  • A beautiful video.

I'm going to Ecuador next year for a month to do voluntary work with children and the community. This video has helped me understand what I should expect to see, as heart wrenching as it is; my reason for going is to help.

  • I'm glad the video touched your heart. If all of us make an attempt to aid the vulnerable and needy populations, through a donation, a volunteer work, or simple human attention and empathy, then we will make a positive change in the world we live in...

  • Somehow this bothered i don't why but it does:

3:18 children mind you are "selling candies/fruits/gums and sodas" here in America kids eat that not sell it. so seeing them selling it to make some money is sad and i wish i knew a avenue to help them. they should be eating and enjoying themselves but in this Country, i wish the Government helps them.

  • Good job man, we need more people like you.

  • Dude! The music is so depressing. Even a party video would be depressing with that music.

We can always help sending messages to corporations such as Chevron Texaco, to undo all the damage they did in Ecuador.

Starbucks and other companies to pay a right price for coffee, bananas, metals, textiles, and all Ecuadorian products, to benefit workers.

Get interested in what happens around you.

    The world is getting smaller.

  • My father had like 10 brothers and sisters.

8 of them died because my grandparents couldn't pay for to go a hospital.

P.S. My family r from Ecuador.

  • You are sending a very powerful message to world! And I thank for that and the touching video. Every child in the world deserves a happy childhood.
