Sent to prison for allegedly killing her lover, Julia discovers she is pregnant and is sent to a high-security maternity ward to serve her time. Julias only concern now is her son. Her fellow inmate Marta becomes her ally; her mother Sofía, her opponent. One attempts to teach her how to be a mother; the other wishes to take over rearing the child. The film, shot in a real prison with inmates as extras, shines a light on a little known aspect of prison life: motherhood behind bars. An official selection of Cannes Film Festival.

as a male I cant relate to this movie, i will not watch it.

think il watch this!! i understand in what some ppl are saying in that they wouldnt want thier kids to be with them if they wer in jail but i also understand being a mother myself that i wouldnt want to be without my child!! its a hard 1!!

you have to look at the movie in the right context,,, obviously that is a prison for women with children. ..who was she going to leave the child with..her flesh and blood...who could she trust to make sure her son would be okay. you have to be a mother to understand

ohhhhhhhhhhhh, well still, i'd want my kid to have a life rather than live w/ me in prison, but that's just my opinion

You've got to remember that the kid is all she has left she was sent to prison 4 (alledgedly) for killing her lover and her mother now hates her and wants to take him away

wow, seems really good, but i wouldn't want my child to live with me if i were in prison, i'd rather give the child up rather than live in a prison and not know wat the world looks like :]
