In the summer of 2009, twenty middle-schoolers in Suwon, South Korea participated in an English camp that put them on both sides of the movie camera. Their task - to direct and star in their own reproductions of scenes from various Hollywood films. The students were wholly responsible for auditions, casting, set design, costumes, acting and directing with the sole intent of recreating the original scene as accurately as possible.
This is their portfolio in seven parts, as edited and presented by their very impressed foreign English teacher. Hopefully this project can inspire more students to continue to pursue their education with the mindset that learning a second language can be both rewarding and fun, and at the same time encourage their teachers to use more creativity in the classroom. Bring the language alive and off the pages of the textbooks - your students will thank you!
This is part 3 of the series... taken from the 1993 comedy 'Cool Runnings'. This scene (which is more enjoyable if watched immediately after viewing the original) can be found about 55 minutes into the film.
