VERNON PARK YOUTH CLUB, STOCKPORT (Part One) [8mm reel, March 1968]

This is a reel I bought off eBay and had converted to DVD. I've dubbed on some suitable copyight-free music. Unlike most of the reels I buy, I know this has some real social value and I would LOVE to hear from anyone to whom this means something.

Hi there, my mum Linda Cheshire as she was known then is actually in this video, she has just shown me it today, she is featured several times in the video, firstly she is dancing in the morris dancing part in a green looking velvet dress which is about 05:10 minutes in, she is also fatured doing the main singing which is about 09:05 minuites in and the girl next to her eating her hair is my cousin Glynnis who has sadly passed away now, this is an amazing video and thank you so much for sharing

@boneyjoe69 Ah, she would be the one who contacted the Manchester Evening News when it ran the feature, right? This is great, because she is one of the few people in it who really stands out. If you want to PM me to sort it out, I can get your family a proper DVD copy to keep. No cost to you - my gift. I simply bought this reel of film on eBay last year for £5; I have no connection to it. Does your mum remember it being shot?

Actually my mum only knew about the video cos she bumped into an old school friend the other day who said she had been watching her on youtube, my mum didnt believe her until she told her to look up Offerton Youth Club video and there was a link to this video, she is amazed and said it brought back so many memories, i think she does remember it being filmed, i would love a proper copy of the DVD but it would only be right i gave you some money for doing the copy and postage
